Sustainability at BCNM 2025

At the 12th Balkan Congress of Nuclear Medicine in conjunction with the 17th Panhellenic Congress of Nuclear Medicine (BCNM 2025), we are committed to integrating sustainability into every aspect of our event, emphasizing both environmental responsibility and cultural preservation.

Cultural & Sustainable Venue: Athens War Museum

Hosting BCNM 2025 at the Athens War Museum aligns with our dedication to sustainability and cultural heritage. The museum plays a pivotal role in promoting cultural and heritage tourism, which has been identified as a catalyst for urban resilience and sustainable development in cities like Athens. By choosing this venue, we support the preservation and appreciation of historical artifacts, contributing to the city's cultural sustainability.
Its central location also promotes low-carbon commuting options, including walking and public transportation—aligning with our goal to reduce the congress’s environmental impact.

Eco-Friendly Congress Materials: Bags & Badges

As part of our sustainability focus:

  • We are also selecting eco-conscious badge materials, aiming to eliminate plastic and switch to biodegradable or recyclable alternatives.
  • We encourage all participants to bring their own bags,  as part of our collective effort to reduce waste and make BCNM 2025 as sustainable as possible and in our effort to not produce any waste.
Digital-Only Program

To reduce paper consumption and minimize our environmental impact, the congress program will be provided exclusively in digital format. Attendees will be able to access all information through our CongressApp, available in the coming days, significantly reducing paper waste and supporting eco-friendly practices.

Art Exhibition: Supporting Social Sustainability

BCNM 2025 will feature an art exhibition aimed at fostering social sustainability by promoting cultural engagement and supporting the local art community. This initiative underscores our dedication to creating an inclusive and enriching environment for all participants, celebrating the intersection of art, culture, and science.

More to Come

We are continually exploring additional measures to enhance the sustainability of BCNM 2025. Further initiatives will be announced as they are finalized, reflecting our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
By implementing these measures, BCNM 2025 aims to set a benchmark for sustainable practices in medical conferences, ensuring a responsible and enriching experience for all attendees.
